Building Credibility and Authority

Building Credibility One of the most important factors to be successful online is when you have built your credibility and authority in the particular market you are targeting. 

Depending on how you look at, building credibility and authority can be easy in some cases and can also be difficult in some cases too. 

I came across a fellow marketer two weeks ago and was asking him how is his online business doing? He started doing business about 6 months ago and already started making some money here and there online. But lately he finally found out that it’s not as easy as it looks like to be making good money on the internet. 

Well, that’s not how it supposed to turn out. Making money online is not that difficult if you have the correct way of doing it. There’s no right or wrong way when making money on the internet. It’s just a question of which is the more effective ways to make money online. 

The easiest way to make big money online is when you have your own product to sell. Bundle it with some bonus plus membership and you are on the way to making money on the internet. But that too will have to be done correctly. 

Many people fail to make money even with having 5 of their own products in the market! 

I will explain one of the factors that can affect your success online and that is building credibility and authority. 

I mentioned in my previous post the importance of building on what you are good at. 

When building credibility and authority, it will be much easier if you know your product well. It will even be better if you are a “somebody” in that market. For example, a doctor in nutrition will be a “somebody” in a weight loss market, an ex bodybuilder will be a “somebody” in a bodybuilding market, a present Forex trader will be a “somebody” in an investment market, an ex soccer player will be a “somebody” in a soccer clinic market. 

Rule #1 – People want to hear from the expert in the particular market that they are interested in and they want to buy from an expert in that market. 

Most marketers are taught to go into a niche market even if you know nothing about that niche. Dig hard into some small niche and you will make money! And they are taught to write articles after articles in order to establish themselves as an expert. Well, I am not saying that is wrong. It’s a good way of building yourself but that will take you years to establish yourself as the expert. 

Let me show an example about people’s interest. 

John wakes up one day and for some reason, he is interested to build an aquarium. John wanted to start a fresh water fish aquarium. This is just interest that John picked up along the way. 

Interest can stay in the person for long and also can be just for awhile and most of the time, these kind of interest will just stay in the person for awhile. 

If you are having a fresh water fish aquarium product and are still busy writing articles to establish yourself as an expert, chances are John will no longer be interested in this interest. You have just missed the bus! And you are going to miss many more buses if you are slow in establishing your credibility and authority. 

So to say, you have to quickly build credibility and authority in the market you are in if you want to be successful online and one way to achieve that is by building on something that you are good at.
